Special Membership Meeting of the Community Club of Brookside--7:30 pm on Feb. 10, 2003

In our bylaws, Article III Sect. IV currently states that "Membership of a family unit shall commence as soon after April 1 as that unit pays its annual dues.  The membership of that unit shall expire on March 31 of the next year unless renewed before that date."

The Executive Committee of the Community Club voted to propose to change the dates to the calendar year, i.e.  "Membership of a family unit shall commence as soon after January 1 as that unit pays its annual dues.  The membership of that unit shall expire on December 31 of that year."

This proposed change is designed to eliminate confusion that many  members have about whether their membership is current.

To become effective, this change must be ratified by vote of the membership at a meeting (regular or special).  The purpose of this notice is 1) to advertise this meeting and 2) the bylaws change that will be proposed then.

As required in the Bylaws, this notice will also be posted in a public place (i.e., the bulletin board at the Brookside Post Office).

Howard Helms, Secretary
