BROOKSIDE COMMUNITY CLUB EXECUTIVE
COMMITTEE MEETING –6/12/0
Attendees: Roland
George, Fran Plodkowski, Irene Daley, Lynda Menton, Denis Menton, Cindy Slate,
Paula Benham, Sandy Almassy, Janet Steinberg, Sara Czarecki, Diane Tolley,
Veronica O’Neil, Betty Conable, Jesse Smith, Maribeth Thomas, Howard Helms
The meeting was
called to order by the President, Denis Menton at 7:35PM.
Howard read the
minutes, which were approved.
President’s Report
Since the parade has
become almost too popular, Denis Menton probably will not respond to Morris
Magazine’s request for information about the parade.
Treasurer's Report
Roland George’s
report, which was read and approved, is attached. On June 9, our current assets were $58,094.61.
Building &
Grounds
Jesse Smith’s report
is attached. The new air conditioning
units were demonstrated. They are
effective without causing undue noise.
Since there will be
no meeting in July, a motion was carried that Jesse Smith will be authorized to
decide whether to replace the floor or just refinish it. This work will be done in August.
President's Report
The Morris County
Heritage Commission’s sign near the driveway telling about the historic
significance of Brookside has been erected.
Rentals
Betty Conable said
that we are having a problem with some out-of-town organizations leaving the
club a mess. Their cleaning allowance will not be returned to them. There was
discussion about raising the fee for the aerobic people. At least one renter (for a Sweet 16 party)
probably will not be permitted to rent again.
Jesse Smith will revise the rules spelled out in the contract and will
send them to Betty and to Howard (for the website). This will include stating that renters should erect sawhorses and
a sign if parking needs to be regulated.
Social and Fund
Raising
The Shakespeare
performance was a great success.
Buzz O’Neill has been
proposed to organize an Oktoberfest.
4th of
July
Veronica O'Neil said
that Connie Barties (spelling?) has agreed to be the Parade Chair.
To shorten the parade, the number of fire trucks and the length of the
speeches will be reduced.
Next Meeting
It will be held at 7:30 PM on Monday, August 14, 2000.
This meeting was
adjourned at 9 PM.
Respectfully
Submitted,
Howard Helms
