BROOKSIDE COMMUNITY CLUB EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING – 10/9/00

Attendees: Roland George, Fran Plodkowski, Lynda Menton, Betty Conable, Joy Barrett, Maribeth Thomas, Irene Daley, Jesse Smith, Kathleen Salerno, Howard Helms

The meeting was called to order by Maribeth Thomas at 7:30PM.

Maribeth read the minutes, which were approved.

Board Membership:  Diane Tolley will be asked to be nominated to another term as Member at Large.

Treasurer’s Report:  Roland George gave the Treasurer’s Report.  We have a CD for $36,000 and an additional $18,000 in an interest-bearing account.

Although our tenant is 3 months behind in his rent, he is working this off by constructing a place for a new furnace.

Buildings & Grounds:  Jesse Smith said that the glass in our new sign is broken.

The Washington Valley School House asked to borrow our tables for a pancake breakfast.  The tables will be returned by noon on Sunday.  We agreed to this request.

The floors will be refinished in December.

Social & Fund Raising:  A meeting to plan the Newsletter will be held on Oct. 17.

The children’s Halloween party will be held on Tuesday Oct. 31 at 6:30 in the Elementary School.

There will be a Brookside Community Club holiday boutique on Nov. 18 from 9 until 3:30.

The children's tree-trimming party will be held on Thursday Dec. 10th at 3 PM. The tree will be erected on Dec. 7^th at 7:30 PM.

Judy Herndon will chair the New Years Eve party.

The April Easter egg hunt will be held on Sat. April 14, 2001 at 10:30 AM.

The Shakespeare Festival will be held in April 29, 2000, tentatively.

The Clam Bake will be held on Sept. 8-9, 2001

Cindy Slate is responsible for making four sandwich boards for publicity.

Fran Plodkowski will do the newspaper publicity. 

Sarah Czarecki is the new Membership Chairman.

Next Meeting: It will be held at the Community Club on 7:30 PM on Monday, Nov. 13, 2000.
