Call to Order: Denis Menton called the Executive Committee meeting to order at 7:30 PM on Monday, Jan. 10, 2000 in the Community Club.

Minutes: The minutes were approved as distributed and read by Howard Helms, Secretary.

President's Report: Dennis Menton read several notes expressing pleasure with the Millennium party.

Dennis thanked Evan Thomas for selling Christmas trees at the club; this netted us $300.

Maribeth Thomas stated that the athletic fields often were not picked up after soccer games. Dennis Menton will convey to Dave Belton the suggestion that a parent be designated as responsible for assuring the cleanliness of the field after each game.

Treasurer's Report: Roland George stated that our assets in the checking account are $14,208.33 and in the CD are 36,346.56, for a total of $50,554.89. The millennium celebration cost a net of about $3K, which is substantially less than the $5K budgeted.

Building and Grounds: Jesse Smith arranged for replacement of the existing ceiling tiles with acoustic tiles before the Millennium party. With the new tiles, the room is much less noisy.

All fire violations have been cleared (by changes to the warning lights and by Kevin Johnson's repair of the rear porch.) after an inspection by the Fire Inspector (Jeff Betz).

Diane Tolley talked to an ADA representative about making the Club accessible for the handicapped. Maribeth Thomas will look into whether a building permit could be obtained for a ramp. After discussion, the consensus was that Paul Hogan should redo the foyer and the front steps as scheduled by Jesse Smith, since a ramp could be added to one side or the other of the front porch later.

Social & Fund-Raising: Lynda Menton reported that the Millennium party is the "buzz of the town." Many "elves" assisted in decorating the Club and in preparing the food. For the New Year's party next December, we should look into hiring a caterer. We voted down a motion to compensate each 'heavy worker' for $60.

Diane Tolley suggested that the Club sponsor a swing or line dance event for Middle Schoolers. This suggestion will be considered at the next meeting of the Social and Fund-Raising Committee.

Rentals: Betty Conable reported that there were 120 rentals in 1999, not counting the aerobics classes. She already has 35 rentals for 2000. Diane Tolley will offer the use of the Club to the Township for committee meetings.

Membership: We need to send out a newsletter in mid-February. It was suggested that we try to find publicity chairperson for this purpose.

As an incentive to becoming a member of the Club, Maribeth Thomas suggested that a scholarship should be awarded to a student active in public service in the community. Maribeth will chair a committee to flesh out this proposal.

Next Meeting: The next meeting of the Executive Committee of the Community Club will be held at 7:30 PM on Monday, Feb. 14, 2000 at the Community Club, Brookside.
