Call to Order: Denis Menton called the Executive Committee meeting to order at 7:30 PM on Monday, March 13, 2000 in the Community Club.

Minutes: The minutes were approved as read by Howard Helms, Secretary.

Vidbell Circus: Tom Ryan of the Pastime Club said that the correct times for performances are 5:15 & 7:30 PM.  The date is set for May 16, 2000.  A certificate for fire resistance of the tent will be mailed to the Community Club and will be forwarded to Jeff Betz.  If it’s very rainy, the circus will be postponed to a later date.  The field will be picked up carefully after the circus.  Minor damage will be repaired by the Pastime Club.  A coloring contest will be held in the schools.  The price will be $10 for the adults and $6 for the kids.

Key dates in our calendar:

·         Rug sale, all day on April 15.

·         Shakespeare Festival at 3 PM on Sunday, April 30.

·         Easter egg hunt April 22nd, 10:30 am. Easter egg hunt and pictures with the Easter Bunny.  BYOB (bring your own basket).

·         4th of July Parade in Brookside

·         Christmas Tree Decorating Party on December 10

·         True Millennium party on Dec. 31, 2000.

Building & Grounds:  We received two quotes for air conditioning.  For $9K, the Sanyos consist of two units, each providing 3 tons of air conditioning.  Another bid was for an Arco Air unit for $7K.  Both bids include a one year warranty for parts & labor plus 5 years warranty for parts.  We need $1K of electrical work.  We voted unanimously in favor of the Sanyo unit, which is the top of the line.

Paul Hogan will redo the front steps, but we haven’t found a mutually acceptable a date yet.

The springs in the Pella doors between the kitchen and the main room have been replaced.  Spare springs may be found in the maintenance closet.

Denis Menton reported that the new event-sign will be erected by the Twp. Road Dept. after he repairs the sign and drives stakes into the ground.

Membership:  Jan Steinberg reported that 165 former members have renewed their membership.

4th of July:  Several persons volunteered to be of help, but we need to find persons to help to coordinate and publicize the event.  Veronica O’Neil will be chairman.  Lynda Menton will call a 4th of July committee meeting on Monday, March 27 at 7:30 pm.  Anyone who is interested is welcome to come.

For the parade, we would like to identify World War II vets in Brookside.

Social and Fund Raising:  We have a committee for the Easter egg hunt.

Next Meeting: The next meeting of the Executive Committee of the Community Club will be held at 7:30 PM on Monday, April 10, 2000 at the Community Club, Brookside.
